It's another late night push, finishing this week's Mogging Mondays post is turning out to be a bit of a challenge. I spent a lot of the night cleaning up Aellin's main page, and posting her new Darkspear Revolutionary set. I hope you all enjoy it, as much as I enjoyed putting it together!
Our last, but certainly not least addition to Paladin Week (#PaladinWeek) is Seinary @ Hellfire EU! A friend of Zhau, and a welcome sight here. She has brought some great lowbie fashion for all of us to see. Welcome to the addiction and I'm glad you shared with us!
Below are a few shots of our siege on the gates of Orgrimmar! This week really marked the week that the true siege began, as protecting what was left of the Vale of Eternal blossoms was a matter of survival. The siege is about reforging the Horde without Garrosh. As you can see, both factions have paid a heavy price for being in his path. And we are the only ones who can stop him! :p
Welcome back everyone. I hope all of your adventures have met with some success! :p
As promised, I'd like to link to all the paladins (#PaladinWeek) that have shown their mogging moxie on Mog's Addiction. Many of them you are probably familiar with, and some of them may be hidden gems. You'll have to view them all to find out:

Zhau @ Hellfire EU, round 4! Four sets for Paladin week, that is. :p
Both Aellin, and Amerisia, have paladin tier inspired sets on their pages, if you want to take a gander. Aellin's Firelord set was, by far, the hardest set I've had to work towards. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did creating it, and all the others.
I was thinking last night, while running around with Amerisia on the Timeless Isle, that I actually had not taken my time to smell the roses on that wonderfully interesting new land. That and I was dreaming up a new paladin inspired set... I had charged into there with Arithan and done some of the content. And I had rushed there with Aellin, mostly to secure coins for bonus loot in raids.
But last night, things were quiet and adventures during queue time awaited. So, Amerisia wandered the Isle, completed some of the quests that are available for newcomers to the Timeless Isle, and hunted a few rares between solving puzzles for treasures and knickknacks.
There was a particularly fun statue at the very top of the trail leading to Ordos, which I'll let you discover if you come across it. There was even a little action involving player combat, which usually didn't end well for her. But overall, it was a somewhat adventurous evening without the feel of requirement weighing down on atmosphere.
That about does it for this week, folks. I'm hoping to get something from the new raid to design something of my own next week. Until then, I think I'm going to focus on getting those things done that I've planned. With any luck, that will include something fancy dropping and inspire a new set. One can dream... and dream... :p
Last night, I decided after being asked to tank something, that Arithan required some tanking maintenance. His focus is PvP combat, but having an up-to-date set for Flex raiding or world bosses wouldn't hurt. There was always the 496 random drop route via the Timeless Isle. But then it struck... Shiny Fever.
I call it that, because once I see that flash in the pan I can't stop. I saw shoulders in Raid Finder that would be both a huge upgrade and a model with a lot of transmogrification potential. So last week, after about 7 tries in the Vale of Eternal Sorrows without a single boss kill, I called it quits for the week. Besides, Aellin and Amerisia both had successful and fun runs, so I wasn't missing out on the content.
However, last night the urge to get that look overwhelmed Arithan once more. He doesn't have sufficient gear to tank, so he went in again as DPS. But to hedge my bets, and make use of the time, I decided to see if Aellin could sit in queue while Arithan did his thing. That is where it all started to fall apart.
Arithan's group was having serious trouble getting their stuff together for Immerseus, so we wiped repeatedly. It was beginning to feel like the previous week was repeating itself. Then, Aellin's queue had come up. So I was left with the dilemma: Continue in the group that wasn't working on Arithan and give up on Aellin, or bring Aellin in and let Arithan miss finishing part one for another week... And in my shiny fever poor judgement, I thought I could handle doing both at the same time.
Multitasking is basically a fancy way of saying, "Instead of doing one thing decently, I think I'll do two things horribly." That's a fantastic idea! Well, not so much. I didn't wipe either raid, surprisingly. But by no means was I performing up to my potential on either character. Both sides were having coordination issues, and tanks were coming and going at an astounding rate. But it's no excuse for being a bad player.
Realizing this, I think it is time for me to chose exactly what it is I want for each character. My time in game is severely limited, perhaps a few hours twice a week. This means balancing three character's needs and wants, and focusing on those goals for each of them.
It's a challenge, since I am quite addicted to each of the aspects in World of Warcraft, especially transmogrification. And the models from each of the tiers for Raid Finder are effectively gone forever in the next expansion, so I need to pace myself and acquire what I want to bank on each character. Preferably, not by being a dead weight for players to carry through Raid Finder.
So, as of today, I am passing a self-resolution to never join two instances, raid finder groups, or PvP groups at the same time again. I say this to all of you as a measure of my resolve. I want to be a good player. And if I'm going to get an item I want it to be because I earned it. Then I can proudly say: MOG ALL THE THINGS! (/hug Honeypants) :p
Paladin Week (#PaladinWeek) is in full swing, and Zhau @ Hellfire EU has brought us some amazing work for the week. She said it best though: "One does not simply have one transmog for paladin week." So, without hesitation I have put together a gallery of her four sets she'd like to show off this week. See her latest creations, and sets by many other paladins on Even more Plate.
I will put a roundup of all the wonderful paladin sets up Friday, time permitting. They are, by matter of sheer numbers, the largest contributors to this website. And by being a plate wearer myself, I have made quite a few sets that are at the very least Paladin flavored.
See you all then! :p
Welcome back everyone to Mogging Mondays! :p
My apologies to everyone for completely missing last week's Monday post. Monday turned into Tuesday, then into Wednesday. So, calling it Mogging Monday on Wednesday just didn't seem right.
The good news comes to us in the form of Alt Appreciation: Paladins! This is the week a lot of you have been waiting to participate in. I know that the majority of my friends play paladins, on both factions, so I'll do a roundup later this week of all the paladins who have come before. If you are on twitter, check out all the fun in the conversation #PaladinWeek.
Also, be sure to stop by World of Lae, as she will have her Monk Week (#MonkWeek) roundup posted. There are still people posting their monk sets, so don't hesitate to share them there, or here on Mog's Addiction.
On a personal note, it was a good week to be a warrior, or several warriors as the case may be. Aellin was able to run the first part of the Siege of Orgrimmar: Vale of Eternal Sorrows. With it, came her first amazing item model: Encapsulated Essence of Immerseus. Yeah, I chose Protection for loot specialization in hopes of getting this, or the tier shoulder model. I know, she is Arms... And yes, she could have used a different upgrade. But the models, they call to me...
Amerisia also scored a lucky weapon drop, which I selected Protection to limit the available drops to the weapon. Again, for the model. There is plenty of time for DPS upgrades, and I could use this for dual wielding one-handed weapons, so it's not totally just for the model. (Just mostly.) The sword is Xifeng, Longblade of the Titanic Guardian, and it is simply gorgeous. My new monk friend, Kaskades @ Ner'zhul, told me I would get it. Sure did! :p
I can't wait to transmogrify into these weapons. Hmm, what to do... Anyway, see you later for adventures in paladin love! :p
MOG ALL THE THINGS! :p
Umlaut Paradots has been running around Ner'zhul since he stood in the freezing cold at Fry's Electronics back at the initial release. He enjoys being the defender, especially of those just starting out in WoW. :p
